The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. We currently have the following opportunities:
OB/GYN HOSPITALISTS
Opening in Roseville, Santa Clara, and Santa Rosa, California
- Roseville: We are a collaborative OB team of hospitalists/hybrids (hospital and office work)/generalists (hospital/MIGS and office work), and Nurse midwives. LD shifts are 12 hours. Hospitalists will care for patients in ED, Labor and Delivery/postpartum, and cross cover for all hospitalized OB/GYN patients. They will conduct inpatient consults as well as answer questions from Clinics or the Call Center. Hospitalists will work as a team with fellow MDs and CNM’s on L&D duties and assist with antepartum testing. All shifts are with fellow physicians. Hospitalists are expected to be the primary surgeon on high number c-sections and assist fellow OB/GYN MD on all surgical cases. They are also responsible for covering other hospitalist inboxes, secure messages, results, and cosigning CNM orders and evaluations. They support postpartum rounds. Centering experience is a plus. Hospitalists are expected to be leaders on labor and delivery. They provide obstetric expertise and psychological safety to their team and LD staff. They are highly valued and integrated into our larger Ob/GYN physician team.
- Santa Rosa: We are seeking an OB Hospitalist to join our team in Santa Rosa, CA. Schedule: 32 hours per week. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and some consecutive nights. Must be willing to develop and work on down-time projects. Must have strong patient satisfaction skills. Our unit has 8 Labor & Delivery rooms, 2 triage beds, 2 ORs, and a 20-bed postpartum unit. The volume includes <200 births/month. We have a Level 2 NICU, one Perinatologist on staff, and in-house Anesthesia, and CRNAs 24/7. We have a robust CNM program in-house 24/7. We offer teaching opportunities with medical students from Touro and Family Medicine residents.
- Santa Clara: Our collaborative OB team includes hospitalists, OB generalists (hospital and office work), full-scope generalists (hospital/GYN surgery and office work), and certified nurse midwives. Hospitalists are an integral part of maternity care at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. They are seen as leaders on Labor and Delivery, and provide obstetric expertise and psychological safety to their team and staff. They provide routine and complex postpartum care, and conduct inpatient and ED consults. They promote evidence-based practices, provide excellent care experience, uphold patient safety, and drive systems improvements. They actively teach, supervise, and mentor our OBGYN residents (4-year residency program, 6 residents per year).
Staffing Expectations
- Hospital shifts are 12 hours, days and nights, weekdays, and weekends
- Scheduled cesarean shifts, up to 8 hours, weekdays
- Back up call is 24 hours from home/within 30 minutes of the hospital
- Schedules are variable, and must be willing to work nights and weekends
- 6FTE available

Full-time annual salary range is $330,000 to $335,040 plus additional potential incentives up to $59,400*. Reduced schedules with pro-rated compensation may be available. *Some incentive opportunities are estimates based on potential premium pay.
