The Medical Director of the Sibley Memorial Hospital/ Johns Hopkins Medicine OB/GYN Hospitalist Program is charged with leading a team of OB/GYN Hospitalists who will provide 24/7 coverage for gynecology and the Women’s and Infant’s Service Line (WIS). In addition, the OB/GYN Hospitalist will provide care for unassigned patients, including those who are seen in the ED and referred from community partners for delivery.
The Medical Director will report directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs of Sibley Memorial Hospital and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM) Department Director of Gynecology and Obstetrics or their designees. The medical director will work in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, Director of Operations, and Chairperson of Women and Infant Services to advance quality, safety, operational, and patient-centered care initiatives for Sibley Memorial Hospital. In addition, the medical director will form collaborative working relationships with the community obstetricians and JHUSOM maternal-fetal medicine providers to support patient care needs.
The Medical Director must have the ability to work closely with hospital administration and nursing leadership, as well as School of Medicine leadership to advance initiatives to support the highest level of quality, safety, and operational efficiency for the service line. The medical director will be a Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics’ Clinical Associate as a member of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine’s Senior Staff and faculty member appointment consistent with academic rank commensurate with experience.
